The new iPad: First Impressions Video Clips. Duration : 13.42 Mins.
My first impressions and thoughts on the new iPad after using it for 24 hours. Using the new iPad has been great, the retina display is pixel perfect, pin sharp and everything displays really crisp. The A5X chip is good for gaming, particularly for high end games as it makes them graphically more impressive and faster. The improved 5MP/1080P camera is excellent for taking photos and rivals that of my iPhone 4. 1080P video seems to be okay too in my initial video shoot. Extras such as Voice Dictation are nice but not necessary and full Siri support would have been nice. The battery life holds up as well as the iPad 2, but does take longer to charge due to the battery being bigger. MacBook Pro w/ Retina Display – First Impressions Video Clips. Duration : 11.75 Mins.
My first impressions after 24 hours of using the new 15 Inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display. Design wise it’s slimmer and lighter than the previous generation MacBook Pro. You can appreciate how slim it is when it comes to typing and resting on it. The keyboard has a nice feel to it when typing and the trackpad feels more responsive. The magsafe connector is a bit of a step back in time design wise and I preferred the previous right angled connector. The screen is the big sell with this MacBook Pro and the Retina Display looks amazing. Everything has more details and icons and text are crisp and clear. Surfing the web is fine as most of what I’ve looked at so far has been text, images are slightly blurry/pixelated but not to the extreme that I was expecting. iWork is quite bad and will need an update soon. In terms of speed this machine is quick! It boots up in around ten seconds and shuts down almost instantly, apps open instantly and surfing the web seems to be quicker with pages rendering a lot faster. The built in speakers are an improvement and give more of a surround than the previous generation MacBook Pro. I haven’t encountered any fan noise as yet, but I’ve not had to do any processor intensive tasks. MacBook Pro with Retina Display Review Tube. Duration : 20.85 Mins.
My review of the new 15 Inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display. The new MacBook Pro is slimmer and lighter than the previous generation, featuring Thunderbolt ports, USB 3.0 and an HDMI port for the first time on a Mac. It also sports the new MagSafe 2 connector, improved stereo speakers and a thinner bezel round the display. The Retina Display is the big sell with this machine and at 2880 x 1800 pixels it has 3 million more pixels than a full HD TV. Everything on screen is crisp and sharp and the display is brighter and more colourful than previous displays. All the apps that come with OS X are optimised for the new display, but third party apps will need an update. In terms of speed this machine packs a quad core i7 processor, 8GB RAM and flash storage which all adds up to quick boot up times and instant operation. It operates on a cool level unless doing processor intensive tasks and the fans only kick in if I’m using Final Cut Pro X. Battery life is great easily achieving the advertised 7 hours if not more. As for negative points, this isn’t upgradeable so RAM and storage upgrades will have to be made at the time of purchase. As mentioned there is no optical drive, no firewire 800, no ethernet, no audio in, no kensington lock slot and no battery indicator or sleep light. Not all apps are retina ready yet and the web can look poor in places, mainly when viewing images. Price is probably the main negative as the new MacBook Pro isn’t cheap and if you add upgrades into the …
